Four is better than three

Today, because I am taking the day off work, I give you my fourth video of the week. Enjoy!
I Want To Sex You Up
I'll be out of town the next two days, as I'll be visiting my sister. Yay! But, I do promise to give you new videos next Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. If you would like to fill in on the days I do not dance, send me a video of yourself dancing! Have a great weekend.

I think it is Thursday... Is it Thursday?

As promised, I am back! I hope not having a video yesterday was not too painful for you (although many of you did show your disappointments). For me, despite my love for dancing, I did appreciate the little break. Anyway, someone (jfh) asked if she could hear my voice. Well, today's video gives a little sample.
Summertime
A better sample of my voice is in my rendition of Come Sail Away (see the video archive). Probably not good enough for American Idol, though. Many people have said that I should be on shows like So You Think You Can Dance or even Ellen. Well, I think I'm too late to try out for SYTYCD, but I'm wondering if there is a way I can get on one of these shows as a guest. Maybe if everyone writes messages or posts comments on their web pages? Who knows... Oh, and what is the blue thing in the bottom-left corner of the image (asks BAB)? Not the exercise ball (which I had fun with in Wild Thing), but the other blue thing. You'll need to stay tuned to find out! :)
If you haven't seen it, scroll down to see the new post I made about how I put up my videos. Tomorrow, I'll be taking the day off work, so I have no excuse for not giving you a new dance video. See you then!

How do they get the Caramilk inside?

I don't know how they get the Caramilk inside the Caramilk bar, but I do know how I make my dance videos.
A few weeks ago, I started to tell you how I make my videos. In particular, I told you how I take videos from my girlfriend's Canon PowerShot S410 and then make WMV files using ArcSoft VideoImpression 2. However, I have not told you how I get the videos onto my blog. The most important thing is finding a place to host the videos. I pay for my webspace and domain name (which are funded by DD Store sales and Google Ad clicks). When I make a new video, I FTP the video file to the web server. I also FTP an image, captured from the master videos, which I display in my posts. Here is an example of the HTML code:
<a href="http://videos.dailydancer.com/videos/2005/07/wild_thing.wmv">
 <div align="center"><img height="180" src="http://videos.dailydancer.com/videos/2005/07/wild_thing.jpg" width="240" /></div>
 <div align="center">Wild Thing</div>
</a>
If you don't want to purchase webspace, you can find sites out there that will host your videos for free. So now (I hope), you have the knowledge to make your own dance video site. Even better, you have the tools to make videos that I can display on my site on my off days! Yes, I still welcome guest dancers... That reminds me, we haven't heard from thestick lately... Anyway, my latest video is coming right up!

Even chicken dancers need a break

No, I'm not leaving you. However, I've been feeling quite overworked lately. Although I love dancing, making posts every morning is taking away from the time and energy I need to do other important things. Thus, I have decided that for now, I will reduce my number of dances per week from five to three. For most weeks, this means dances on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I may resume five dances a week at some point. I apologize to those upset by my decision.
So that I do not leave you all stranded, here is a new dance for you.

I'll be back Thursday (yes, Thursday) with my next dance.

Dancing with noone but myself

Howdy! Did you have a good weekend? I hope so. I'm back again with some more dancing action. Enjoy!

Did you like my choice of costume in last Friday's dance? Those good ol' belts sure did a great job. Billy would be proud. Have a great day!

I think the rotation has finally stopped

Oh boy! That was a good song yesterday... You Spin Me Round by Dead Or Alive... I think Adam Sandler does a great rendition of the song at the beginning of The Wedding Singer. Now that's a great movie! One of my very favorites. I like the end of the movie where Billy Idol is on the plane. It reminds me of my much younger days when I used to put chains around my neck and dance on the bed to Billy Idol songs. Ahhhhh, if I was only a kid again...
You know what? I have got to do a Billy Idol song. Check out some of this flesh for fantasy!

Dancing With Myself
Well, that's the end of another week here in DD land. Have a fun, but safe, weekend. I'll be back on Monday, when I continue dancing with myself. :)

The future's so bright!

Did you think I looked cool wearing those sunglasses in yesterday's video? Man, I felt cool! When I was young, I had a poster of Purple Rain on my wall and I so wanted to be part of Prince's Revolution. Well, I'm feeling a bit dizzy right now, so I think I'll get right to the video.
You Spin Me Round
Oh, man! It's gonna take me some time to recover from the dizziness. Whoooooo!
Before I go, I must mention that Mozilla users should, once again, be able to view my videos. Also, I have started another sale at the Daily Dancer Store. If you want to buy Daily Dancer gear, this is a great time to do it. Bye!

Mmmmmm, dust is tasty!

Ahhhhh, so now the new dance space is clean, and my belly is nice and full [see yesterday's dance]. Now, I know what a cat feels like when it eats a furball. :)
But, now that the new place is clean, I think I'll leave it that way for a few days and go back to the good ol' DD crib. A bunch of people have requested a Prince song, so I danced to one...

I don't think princes are supposed to sweep floors. Anyway, see you all tomorrow.

Groove is in MY heart!

Yes, groove is certainly in my heart, as you can tell from yesterday's dance. As you probably know, I am working on becoming a better dancer. Dancing is fun, and it gives me great exercise. I think I've lost 20 pounds since I started putting my dances online. Do you know what else is great exercise? Housework! Yeah, I thought I would give the new dance space a little sweep...

I hope I did a good job with the cleaning. That's all for today!

Where did the weekend go?

Yeah, Monday morning already. Back to work. Yippee! At least the NKOTB urges have worn off, so I'll be dancing to something different today. These past few weeks, I've been trying to learn some new dance moves. Yeah, I'm building up my repertoire, step by step (doh! NKOTB again). My girlfriend and I found some cool Hip Hop instructional videos at the library. Also, we have been going to see free outdoor dance performances, which included African and Latin American dance. Well, it is time to get my groove on and demonstrate some of my new moves...

Groove is in the Heart
I understand that some people using Mozilla browsers are having trouble viewing my videos. This problem seems to have arisen during my web host move. I will fix this very soon, with the rest of my hosting problems. Also, I've gotta buy some better lighting. That's all for now!

Heeeeeey, Michelina's... oops, I mean Macarena

Nausea, Heartburn, Indigestion, Upset Stomach, Diarrhea! Hey, that's Pepto-Bismol! Luckily, I don't have any of those symptoms right now. However, I do wish "tired" was on that list, as it has been a busy week. Besides doing my regular job (as a software developer), I have been helping my girlfriend's dad to edit some instructional material, and I have had to organize and play three softball games. Plus, I'm having all these web hosting troubles. :(
Anyway, Wednesday's dance to Summer Girls had me left with NKOTB on my mind, so I felt the urge to post a dance to one of their songs.

Step by Step
One more day of work, and then I have the weekend to rest and catch up on my e-mail and comments. Woohoo! See ya.

It will all be fixed soon

New Kids On The Block had a bunch of hits. Yeah, they did. I saw little Joey Joe on TV recently, showing his stuff on "Dancing with the Stars". That was cool. So, yesterday's song was Summer Girls. I enjoyed dancing to it, even though some of you didn't like the song choice. I think I've been blinded, though, from letting all that light in. I think I'll have to block some of the light next time. :)
So, I'm still working on a fix for my technical problems. Please be patient this upcoming week, until I get everything all good. I will still have videos for you, including this one I post here. Enjoy!

Hmm... I find myself leaving for work later and later every day. I've gotta get moving. Later!

In all the mess, I came up with something

I am still having troubles, but I was able to put up a new video.

Hopefully, I get all my technical issues sorted out by Monday.

Something is not right...

I am currently experiencing serious technical difficulties on my site. But, I'm sure you could see that. Anyway, it seems that the move to my new server was not as smooth as I had hoped. If I do not get things fixed before I leave for work, you may not get a video today. I apologize.
UPDATE: I did a temporary fix so you could see my most recent videos.

Where did you come from? Where did you go?

Where did I come from? Well, I grew up on the East Side, but I now live on the West Side. Yesterday's song, Cotton Eye Joe, brings me back to the days when I was in high school. I mostly kept to myself, so my socializing went only as far as people yelling "Dance, Daily Dancer, dance!" and me pulling off a jig just like I did yesterday. Yeah, I danced for people even back then.
Today's request goes out to Rockchild's mom. Enjoy!
I Like Big Butts
When making yesterday's post, I was unsure whether the title of the song was "Cotton Eye Joe" or "Cotton-Eyed Joe". Luckily, I had the official Rednex site to confirm the answer. See you tomorrow!

It's Monday morning already?

On Friday, I felt so good, thanks to James Brown. He made me build up a good sweat -- so much that I had to remove articles of clothing. Now, I know that some of you were disappointed that I didn't take everything off. But, you have your imaginations, which I am sure can be quite vivid. You could always open up Adobe Photoshop and paste/draw in all the parts you are missing. :)
It has been a busy weekend for me, and I am somewhat drained. However, that is no reason for me to not give you a new video! And here is today's video:

Oy, yoy, yoy, must I go to work? Yep! I must go and write some code. I hope your week starts off well.

Who will be our special guest today?

Ummmm, well, noone. You wanted to see me dancing, and today you will see a lot of me. I just need a little help from my good friend, James Brown.

I Feel Good
So, I received some mixed opinions about my first guest dancer, thestick. I commend him for having the courage to send me a video and have it presented to all of you. And, I still encourage all of you to send your videos in. I want to help you to share your dancing passions with the world.
Many of you have e-mailed me, asking how I put videos on my blog. I start by using my girlfriend's digital camera (a Canon PowerShot S410, to be exact) to record the video. After downloading the video onto the computer, I use ArcSoft VideoImpression 2 to edit the video. Why? Because it came free with the camera and is simpler to use than anything else I have tried. Also, I have not been able to, with any other program and file format, achieve the same level and quality of compression as this program gives me with WMV format (with 256 Kbps). Later, I'll complete this story by telling you how I integrate the videos into my blog.
Now, you have the knowledge to make videos just like Daily Dancer. Have a great weekend!

What? Another vacation video?

Yes! While going through my vacation pictures, I found that I had shot another dance video! This one was taken on Monday, June 13, on an island in the middle of Golden Gate Park. There, we found a pagoda with a group of people playing lovely Cantonese music. And there, I danced!
Golden Gate Park
If that is not upbeat enough for you, you can always rewatch yesterday's hula-hooping to Hey Ya, or you can visit my video archive. But it is my final vacation video. Yes, really. No more! Well, until next vacation. :)

Adventures in Plantland, Part II

I love my new dance space! It is a nice huge room with a hardwood floor and lots of plants in the background. But, I'm sure you noticed that. That song, Wuthering Heights, I'm starting to like more and more every time I hear it. Kate Bush can really hit those high notes!
Here is my second dance of the week, to another song requested by many, including Justmeleigha, otter, and reine_de_soleil. It was recorded in the same place as the first dance...

Hey Ya
Well, now "Hey Ya" goes to "See Ya"... So, see ya tomorrow!

Never trust a guy who dances with teddy bears

Well, let me correct me that opening statement. Never trust a guy who dances with teddy bears, *unless* he is Daily Dancer. :) Once again, I say that no stuffed animals get hurt during the filming of my videos. The bear enjoyed being twirled in the air and put into that awkward position on the chair [see Friday's post].
Today, I'm going to make Potted-flower very happy, as I'm going to dance to the song she's requested over and over. Miffles also requested this one.

Notice the new location? Yeah! I've found a great new place to do my dances. I plan to dance there on occasion. Thats all for now!

A new month, and I'm still dancing!

Well, I might not be a material girl in a material world, but it was fun pretending to be one. I'm certainly no Madonna. :)
I finish the week by dancing to yet another requested song, sent in by Melissa (by e-mail).

Before I leave for the weekend, I have one request for all of you. If you find any newspaper article that talks about my site, wherever you are in the world, I would appreciate it if you would scan that article and send it to me. Similarly, if I am featured on television, I would appreciate it if you would tell me or (even better) send me a video file. Thanks! See you on Monday.
